EDWIN EDVANZD

E. St. Louis native Edwin EdVanzd began his career on stage before transitioning to screen in acclaimed projects such as We Were Soldiers, ER, Chicago Med and The Chi; establishing him as a versatile performer.

 

Building on that foundation, Edwin expanded into producing, founding EdVanzd Entertainment, a subsidiary of EdVanzd Media, to develop original projects across film, television, theatre and music. His work as a producer reflects a commitment to powerful storytelling rooted in culture, history and social impact.

 

One of his standout producing credits, the multi award-winning feature documentary Target: St. Louis, Vol. 1 won the coveted "Best Documentary" prize at the prestigious Urbanworld Film Festival, drawing critical acclaim for its unflinching exploration of historical injustice. Through his slate, Edwin continues to champion bold narratives that resonate with audiences while creating opportunities for fresh and diverse voices in entertainment; ​focusing on building a dynamic producing portfolio in film and television that bridges artistry with impact.

Told through the eyes of those who were once children—and are now survivors—TARGET uncovers the story of secret U.S. government experiments conducted on unsuspecting residents of the legendary Pruitt-Igoe housing complex in northern St. Louis by spraying toxic chemicals. The film centers on the predominantly African-American, low-income community that was deliberately targeted, giving voice to those who lived through this hidden chapter of American history.

Lindon Passing is the story of Lyn and her son Lindon. We journey with them through parts of their life and connect to them through a mother and son relationship. Lyn is faced with a tough decision regarding her son and we follow her as she learns about love, the cycle of life, and letting go.

Written and directed by Keena Ferguson this HBO nominated story delves into the circle of life and how we view it, the lessons one teaches us and a woman’s body.
